1. The founders had no intention for the federal government to adopt socialism. Yet, during the 1900s, the federal government became more socialistic as a result of specific legislation being signed by presidents. The initial source for these socialistic programs was the federal income tax that was enacted in the early 1900s. As more socialistic programs came into existence, additional taxes were enacted. The first major socialistic program was Social Security, which was enacted by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. President Lyndon B. Johnson enacted Medicare and Medicaid. He also enacted other socialistic programs that helped the poor. President Barack Obama enacted another, Obamacare. Together, these socialistic programs are expensive and have caused the nation’s national debt to increase every year. Without question, the founders had no intention for the federal government to enact such socialistic programs. Consequently, they would be opposed to the federal government adopting socialism.

2. No so-called superpower nation should ever find itself needing an essential product from a foreign country, especially a foreign country that has a different political philosophy. This is the result of one or more individuals who are ignorant being allowed to make such decisions. Or the individuals responsible for such decisions accepted bribes.
